INTERNET

1.LAN
A network covering a small area is called LAN.
Features :
-It can be in a room,building or small office.
-It covers distance not more than 1.25 miles from one end of the network to another.

CAN
A network covering a campus area ,that is, an university area is called CAN

MAN

A NETWORK covering a city area is called MAN
Features :
-It covers not more than 10 kms from one end to another.
-It may be made up of small networks connected to each other.
-MAN is used mainly in metro cities.

WAN

A network covering hundreds to thousands of kms from one end to another is called WAN. Internet is the best example of WAN.


INTERNET

-It is a world-wide network.
-It is the best example of WAN.
-It is made up of millions of computers connected to each other.

-It is a public network. Anybody can access internet.
